Independent technology leadership

Hire Me — CTO as a Service

I help FinTech and technology teams turn difficult product, architecture, and operating decisions into a plan they can execute.

I help founders, boards, and technology leaders turn an ambitious product plan into an architecture and operating model a team can actually deliver.

I am Chahid Arid, a Principal Solutions Architect focused on FinTech, payments, digital banking, cloud platforms, and applied AI. CTO as a Service is how I bring that experience into a company without forcing it to make a full-time executive hire before the role is ready.

When to bring me in

You do not need another generic transformation presentation. You need a clear decision, an executable plan, and someone who can work with both leadership and engineering.

I am most useful when:

  • a fintech product is moving from prototype to a regulated, production-ready platform;
  • architecture has become a constraint on delivery, reliability, or commercial growth;
  • a board or founder needs an independent technology view before an investment, partnership, or major vendor decision;
  • payments, ledger, reconciliation, risk, or integration boundaries are unclear;
  • an AI-agent or RAG initiative needs a credible operating model, evaluation plan, and governance controls;
  • an engineering organization needs priorities, decision rights, and a roadmap—not a permanent reorganization.

What I work on

Technology strategy that survives contact with delivery

I translate business goals into a small number of technology decisions: which capabilities must be owned, where a platform should integrate, what can be bought, what must be built, and which risks need to be retired first. The output is not a wish list. It is a sequenced roadmap with owners, dependencies, and decision gates.

FinTech and payment architecture

I work through payment lifecycles, orchestration, ledger boundaries, reconciliation, API contracts, event-driven integration, resilience, security scope, and operational evidence. I want every important financial outcome to be explainable—not merely visible on a dashboard.

Architecture and platform recovery

When delivery is slowing down, I trace the friction to its source: unclear ownership, coupled domains, fragile deployment paths, missing observability, or governance that exists only in meetings. Then I define the smallest practical intervention that changes the trajectory.

Applied AI with controls

I help teams move beyond the demo. That includes use-case selection, agent boundaries, retrieval architecture, evaluation, human approval points, evidence, cost controls, and production observability. In regulated work, autonomy must be earned through measurable controls.

Technical due diligence and executive decision support

I give decision-makers a direct view of architecture risk, delivery capability, operational resilience, security posture, vendor dependence, and the cost of the current roadmap. The goal is an evidence-based decision, not a longer list of concerns.

The first 30 days

Every engagement is different, but my first month normally follows four moves.

  1. Frame the decision. I agree the business outcome, constraints, stakeholders, and the questions that must be answered.
  2. Inspect the evidence. I review the architecture, delivery flow, operational data, controls, contracts, and the assumptions behind the roadmap.
  3. Make the trade-offs explicit. I show the viable options, their consequences, and what would make me change my recommendation.
  4. Leave an executable plan. You receive priorities, decision records, a target state, near-term actions, named risks, and a governance rhythm the team can continue without me.

The deliverables are designed to be used in engineering reviews, board discussions, partner conversations, and delivery planning. I keep them concise enough to drive a decision and detailed enough for a team to act.

Ways to work together

Executive advisory sprint

A focused two-to-four-week engagement for one consequential decision: platform direction, vendor selection, architecture review, AI readiness, technical due diligence, or a delivery recovery plan.

Fractional CTO

Ongoing technology leadership for a company that needs senior direction, but not yet a full-time CTO. I work with the founder and engineering leads on priorities, architecture, operating cadence, hiring decisions, risk, and partner conversations.

Architecture engagement

A defined piece of work around payments, digital banking, cloud modernization, integration, platform engineering, or AI systems. I can lead the decision process and leave the team with the artifacts and guardrails required to deliver it.

A good fit

We are likely to work well together if you want direct advice, can give access to the people and evidence behind the problem, and are willing to make trade-offs explicit.

I am not the right fit for a company looking for a borrowed title, a predetermined recommendation, or a report that will not be used. My role is to improve the quality and speed of the decision, then help the team make it real.

Start with the decision you need to make

Send me the situation in a few lines: what you are building, what is blocked, why it matters now, and the decision you need to reach. I will tell you plainly whether I can help and what a sensible first engagement would look like.
